Our day starts fairly early when we head down to the chapel for morning meditation.  This is followed by Mass and then the prayer of the church.  After this we get down to breakfast and fuel ourselves for the busy day ahead.

We fill a variety of roles in the community.  Most of us were teachers at one time or another and education is still an important aspect of our mission. 

Several Sisters are now involved in parish work.  This can be very varied. We visit the sick, both at home and in the hospitals, prepare children for First Communion and young adults for Confirmation.  Instructing adults who wish to know more about the Catholic faith or who want Baptism is also part of our work.  Some Sisters take Holy Communion to the housebound, assuring them that they too are part of the church community.  Directing the choir and musicians in order to enhance the celebration of the liturgy is yet another aspect of our pastoral work.

However, as well as serving the Church, we also try to reach out to the wider community in which we live.  Our House of Mercy is a hostel for the homeless.  In the winter it gets particularly busy.  Brother Roy ensures that there is always a warm, friendly welcome and we try to feed and clothe as many as we can.

We also opened "The Listening Ear" for people who wanted to come in with any problems that they had.  In this busy world many feel the need for a patient, sympathetic and non-judgemental ear.

We all tend to reconvene around 6pm for evening prayers and supper.  Often there is more work to be done afterwards.  The work we do certainly isn't easy but it is rewarding.
